Sunday School!! Beautiful
weather greeted the group of race fans at Motordrome Speedway Sunday
afternoon! The whole gang got an opportunity to view a DEMO
DERBY car that had remained after the demo derby race! Was it
ever beat up! Some of the future drivers could not believe
that the car had lasted so long to get so beat up!

and future ARCA Series driver Tommy
Beck was the day's celebrity instructor! After the
Safety and classroom portion of the day, the group got their
first close up view of the Team Ciferno Ride & Drive Car.
Many questions were asked, some of which were quite
informative for those not closely involved in MOTORSPORTS! The
driving portion of the day went excellent! The only glitch was
the Television set would not pick up the Steelers football
game! The video experts ( believe me there were a bunch of
'em!) could not get any reception from the "indoor"
antenna. It was concluded that the "indoor" antenna
would not work outside! Following the driving and qualifying
runs Ride A Longs were in order! Check out the photos page to
see all the smiling faces!
As one student
whispered "This is better than VIAGRA!"

September 12th!
American
Automobile Association ( AAA ) sponsored the nights racing at
Motordrome Speedway! Mr.
Paul Adams
was chosen to RIDE A LONG in the Team Ciferno Ride & Drive
Car during the intermission break! Paul really enjoyed the
high speed trip around Motordrome Speedway riding shotgun
while Team Ciferno was represented by none other than Eugene
himself! ( I don't think I would ride with me! ). Following
the Ride in the 2 seat Nascar Style Latemodel Paul became an
honorary member of the Team Ciferno Pro Truck team! Donning
the headsets provided by Crew Chief Ace Wilson Paul listened
in while the team communicated with Eugene during the Pro
Truck race! Eugene finished a hard fought 4th place with 16
trucks starting! Upon returning to the scales the #16 Team
Ciferno Pro Truck was directed to Nascar Technical Inspection!
While in Tech Inspection Paul got a first hand look at some of
the requirement that the race vehicle must meet upon
completion of an event.

"I just wanted to thank you
for the ride at the Motordrome on Friday evening the 12th. I
enjoyed meeting you and Ace and spending time in the Pit
area and watching how they do a tech inspection. I learned
that there is a lot that goes on in racing with
Driving and preparing the Car. Take care and good luck and
thanks for a great time and I hope you Win every
time you go out. Tell Ace it was great meeting him and
talking with him and will be looking for both of you at
the Track. Maybe I will be able to take the class and get to
drive the Car."

August 14th !
A
Hot and Sunny day greeted the Team Ciferno Ride & Drive
participants at Motordrome Speedway! The group consisted of
Birthday and Anniversary gift recipients! The excitement grew quickly
as the #16 Ride & Drive car was warming up! The aroma of
the High Octane Sunoco Race Fuel added to the anticipation of
driving the Nascar style Latemodel around the Speedway!
The
whole gang had great big smiles on their faces when each
pulled into the Team Ciferno Winner's Circle!
The
most memorable quote was "My legs are still
shaking!" from Sandy who only went for a Ride a Long with
an instructor!

July 25 !
Super Value
night at Motordrome Speedway was full of action and had great
weather! The lucky fan chosen for the Team Ciferno Ride A Long
was Super Value employee Jeff
Chobirko!
"I'm
ready for another 50 laps!" Jeff exclaimed when the #16
Ride & Drive Latemodel rolled to a stop on the front straight!

year of participation by Super Value at Motordrome!

Congratulations
to the MaGee Hospital Ride &
Drive Team Members!
Anticipation
began with the Classroom session, and quickly increased in
intensity as the group got their first laps around the
speedway in the Supercharged Pontiac GTP! Following the tour
of the speedway each group got a close up and hands on, Pit
Road Experience! That racing jack and hot rod pit gun really
opened their eyes as to the difficulty in changing tires
during a Pit Stop!
The
Ride A Long with the instructors really got their engines
running! Then came the actual drive sessions. With everyone's
"Racing Name" written on the roof of the car, each
new driver began their run on the speedway! The smiles and
excitement of driving a 550 HP race car will last for a long
time. This gang is already planning on a second trip to TEAM
CIFERNO RIDE & DRIVE!

July 11 !
Following
the Pro Truck Feature, it was time for the Team Ciferno Ride
& Drive car to hit the track piloted by Latemodel racer
BOBBY HENRY! Ms. JILL MOSHETTA of
Tom Clark Auto Family, and Mr. STEVE
COCHENOUR of Levin Furniture, were the fans picked to
Ride A Long around the Smithton 1/2 mile!!
Jill
got a few pointers from her favorite driver Mark Cattone just
prior to her departure out on the track!
Steve
had previous race experience in the entry level, but this was
his first time in a latemodel as a passenger!

Mother
Nature stopped by and decided if she couldn't ride in the Team
Ciferno Ride & Drive car then no one will! A sudden
downpour cancelled the racing activities for the evening!
Be
at Motordrome Speedway July 11 for the 150 lap Latemodel race
and to see who will ride in the # 16 Ride & Drive car.
Stop in the pits after the racing and say Hi to the Team
Ciferno Crew! Also look for #16 Pro Truck Driver Eugene
Ciferno in the grand stands signing autographs, he's been
known to sneak over there occasionally!!

Tonight's
lucky ride a long fan was Ms. Karen
Jones of Falconi Dodge!!
Karen is scheduled for a high performance driving course with
Subaru, and now is officially warmed up!
"It
was too short, I want to keep going!!" Karen exclaimed
when driver Bobby Henry brought the Team Ciferno Ride &
Drive car to a stop on the front stretch!

The TEAM CIFERNO RIDE and DRIVE CAR was at
Motordrome Speedway on hand to give a lucky fan from the
grandstand a ride in the Nascar Style Latemodel!
Mr. DAVE KREGER of DICK'S SPORTING GOODS was chosen
to ride along around the 1/2 mile
speedway!
"It was
awesome to not only hear the engine but, to feel the
power of the car as you went through the gears and
the car accelerated out of the turns to the
straightaway." Dave exclaimed!

With
inclement weather in all directions the skies over
Motordrome Speedway cleared up for an exciting day of
Ridin' and Drivin' ! With some apprehension each new
member of TEAM
CIFERNO climbed
though the driver's window to take their turn at the
wheel of the # 16 Nascar Style Latemodel. But upon their
return to Winner's Circle each new racecar driver had
ear to ear smiles on their faces!!
New
race fans were born! As Guy Junker stated "I have a
whole new respect for what these guys
do!"
